Our Wonderful God
Introduction:
In our busy day-to-day lives, we can get so caught up in the things
of this world that we forget to focus on our wonderful God.
Distractions come from all directions: job, family, house, sports,
entertainment, friends. . . But we must take time to think about
God and who He is. This lesson is a basic reminder of what our God
is like.
Body:
I.
God Is Holy
·
To say God is holy is to say He is set apart, separate and distinct
from sin and evil. Read
Exodus 3:1-6.
·
To say God is holy is to say He is set apart. There is no other
like Him. (II
Samuel 7:22)
·
To say God is holy is to say He is infinite in His holiness. (Isaiah
6:1-3)
For Jews to repeat something three times showed its perfection.
“Holy, Holy, Holy”
II.
God Is All-Knowing
·
His foreknowledge (Isaiah
48:3-5)
Everything knowable, He knows. (Psalm
33:13-15)
·
He knows all about us. (I
John 3:20)
He knows us better than we know ourselves. (Hebrews
4:13)
He knows us deeply; who we really are.
·
There is no place for anyone to hide. (Job
34:21-27)
·
He also knows when we are weak, tired, and weary. (Psalm
121:11-4)
III.
God Is All-Powerful
·
Nothing is too hard for Him. (Jeremiah
32:17, Genesis 18:11-14) God possesses infinite power. He can do all that He
wills (desires) to do; all that is according to His character. Note:
II Timothy 2:13, Hebrews 6:18

All things were created by Him and for Him. (Colossians
1:46)
·
He is far, far above man. (Isaiah
40:17, 21-26)
Conclusion:
Our God is truly a wonderful God. (Psalm
145:1-3)
He is the only being who is truly good. (Psalm
145:8-9)
Those who call upon Him in truth shall be saved. (Psalm
145: 18-19)
