Recall Your Purpose – Part of the remedy
·
It is the same as Christ’s. (Luke
19:10)
“For the Son of Man has come to seek and save that which was
lost.”
·
Christians did not cease the daily activity of telling that
Jesus was the Christ. (Acts
5:42)
“They did not cease teaching and preaching.”
·
Bring good tidings that they may receive forgiveness of sins. (Acts
26:16-18)
The great news is heralded.
·
“Go and teach; not “go and convert.” The power is in the gospel.
(Romans
1:16)
People must be taught the gospel in order to have the power
unleashed. (John
4:35-38)
II.
Trust in God – Part of the remedy
·
I Corinthians 3:6-9
Understand that you don’t have control over people and
you can’t make decisions for them.
·
God begets man through His Word; He “gives spiritual
life.” (I
Peter 1:23)
The word has the ability; new life comes from God’s living word.
Trust in its ability; it needs nothing else.
III.
Devote Yourself to Prayer – Part of the remedy
·
Colossians 4:2
“Be watchful.” Keep alert in your prayers. Pray
regularly.
·
Colossians 4:3
Ask God for opportunity (door) to talk to at least one lost
soul. (Ephesians
6:18-19)
·
Colossians 4:4
Make good news understandable. Make it clear.
·
Colossians 4:5
To make the most of an opportunity, your behavior must match
your message. (Ephesians
5:15-16)
“Live wisely.” The world is an evil place. Prove to others by
how you live that Christ lives in you. (Galatians
2:20)
·
Colossians 4:6
First, don’t be arrogant or self-righteous when talking with
unbelievers. Select your words carefully. “Don’t put them down.”
Respond to all questions and remarks with concern for lost
souls. (I
Peter 3:15)
“Be ready to explain.” “Be courteous and respectful.”
Conclusion:
The remedy for spiritual boredom is teaching an unbeliever.
Inviting, studying with another person will help maintain your
spiritual well-being. When should you start? NOW!
Any age is the “right age” to evangelize. (I
Timothy 4:12)
Do you wish that you had more friends who were New Testament
Christians? Wishing is not the remedy.
1.
Recall your purpose.
2.
Trust in God.
3.
Devote yourself to prayer.
Invitation:
The remedy for sin is Christ’s blood. Have you come in contact
with it yet?
