Who Is God?
Introduction:
Why is this question important? It is important because your view of
who God is shapes your view of yourself and how you should live in this
world. The source of our information about God must be His revealed
Word. So who is God?
Body:
I.
The Creator·
His handiwork is seen in His creation. (Psalm 8:1, 3-4)
God has no beginning or end. (Revelation 1:8)
·
He gave us an eternal spirit. (John 17:1-2)
II.
The Heavenly Father
God provides for His children. (Matthew 6:25-33)
He is interested in
even the smallest details of our lives.
He knows our needs before we ask. (Isaiah 65:24)
God works all things for our good. (Romans 8:28)
He is kind and
gracious to His children. He brings help and intervention to our
lives. (Psalm 103:8)
III.
The Savior
·
God showed His love by sending the Savior. (Romans 5:8) We in no way
deserved this. (Isaiah 53:5)
·
He cleansed us from our sin. (Hebrews 10:17-22) Without this, we would
have no hope at all.
·
He does not hold our confessed sins against us. (I John 1:9, Psalm
103:12)
Conclusion:
Let us always remember that God loves us and will never forsake us.
